Knighthood to Sachin Tendulakr

I really wonder sometime how the hysteria swip so many learned people and intellectual media. Now a days everybody talking about 'sir' Sachin, hoping that Knighthood would be conferred to him. Did anybody think that why nobody became "Sir" after independence?? Peope forget too that Sunil Gavaskar was also supposed to be conferred with this title but it could not happen- Why?

Instead of starting discussion on whether Sachin will become 'sir' or not, media should have educated people that its simply not possible because our constitution doesn't permit any such honour which will make one person unequal to any common man through that honour. That is the reason nobody became "Sir" after independence though before 1947 we had so many "sir", "Raibahadur" and "Raisahab".
